Definitions

  • [Blok]: 1 instance of the entire synthesizer
  • Block: 1 processing unit within an instance of [Blok] (this could mean a single oscillator)
  • Patch: 1 complete instrument consisting of a number of blocks and connections between them

Naming Patches

To create some form of standard in desiging/sharing sounds, here are some guidelines for naming your patches:

UserName-Type-Tags-Name.blkx

so Zephod making a lead-type patch for House music, named ClassicStab1 would end up as:

Zephod-Lead-House-ClassicStab1.blkx

common types/tags are:

  • Lead
  • Bass
  • Key
  • String
  • Pad
  • Wind
  • Flute
  • Brass
  • Organ
  • Drum
  • Percussion (see User:Duplofenac for a suggested list of extra tags for percussion)
  • FX
