A useful way to approach nailing that sound is to look at the sound in an FFT-over-time display like you might find in the more functional wave editors out there. Even if you don't have the sound as a solo instrument or single note example.
The FFT will give you some information about the evolution of tones as the amplitude of the sound goes through its ADSR envelope. Things to look for are 1)how many distinct frequencies/tones/bands are present. 2)do they evolve in a certain way over time (and how).
The Waveform view of your wave editor will give you an idea of the recurring waveform that gives the sound its identity and timbre. This waveform might be a complex mixture of several waveforms, pitched at different octaves or semitones.
Armed with Waveform and FFT view of the sound you have a starting point for recreating the instrument.
2x pulse osc (detuned) 1x saw osc 1x sub oscillator (pulse) 1x noise osc
Use an envelope with very short attack+release and maximum sustain.
Apply this envelope to all the generators.
Route all the generators through 1 HP filter with a tiny bit of resonance. (counterintuitive, but this actually boosts some of the low frequencies -and- removes any possible DC offset created by the noise.)
Route the HP output through a lowpass filter
Possibly add an envelope to the pitch input of the generators
Play with detune & filtercutoff until happy
