Oscillator

Introduction

Oscillators are the main ingredient of most synthesizers. They change their pitch according to the note you play. You can change the timbral qualities by changing the waveform.

Parameters

  • Pitch
  • Amplitude
  • Waveform

Inputs

  • Pitch modulation input.
  • Amplitude modulation input.

Pitch modulation input

Use this input to alter the pitch of the oscillator over time. Use an lfo for vibrato effects, or use other oscillators as modulation source to create FM sounds.

Amplitude modulation input

Use this input to alter the amplitude/volume of the oscillator over time. Note that if you DON'T connect this input to an envelope or something similar, the oscillator will always make sound! The default way of connecting an oscillator is therefore -> Envelope to the Amplitude input.

Uses

Oscillators form the basic tonal soundsource of most of your sound.
