Hyper Oscillator

Introduction

The Hyper Oscillator is a small package containing up to 7 detuned oscillators. The spread and diffuse parameters control the number of oscillators and their relative tune. The parameters are designed to keep the detunedness sounding similar even if the number of oscillators changes.

For more generic information, see Oscillator

Parameters

  • Amplitude
  • Spread

Spread determines the relative detunedness of the oscillators used internally.

  • Diffuse

Diffuse determines the number of oscillators used internally. When you increase this value, the block will smoothly fade in extra oscillators.

  • Waveform

Inputs

  • Amplitude modulation input.

Amplitude modulation input

Use this input to alter the amplitude/volume of the noise over time. Note that if you DON'T connect this input to an envelope or something similar, the hyper oscillator will always make sound! The default way of connecting an oscillator is therefore -> Envelope to the Amplitude input.

Uses

Spread oscillators in general are most famous for their use as massive trance-leads. They are also very useful to create a solid body for a lush pad sound.
