Getting started
System requirements
- A computer running windows (it has been reported that [BLOK] can run on Wine, see running blok on Wine for details
- A sequencer capable of hosting either Buzz or VST plugins
Steps
- Download [BLOK] here.
- Install it.
- Run your sequencer.
- Make sure it scans for new plugins.
- Add a new instance of the [BLOK] plugin to your song. (If this fails then you probably require this Visual C++ runtime)
- Load some of the supplied example files.
- Use the right mousebutton to select file->clear to start with a new blank patch.
- Use the same menu to add an Output, an Oscillator and an Envelope.
- Connect the Envelope to the Oscillator amplitude by clicking out the output and input arrows.
- Connect the Oscillator output to the Output input.
- Play on the keyboard! (qwertz corresponds to c,d,e,f,g,a)
- Play around with all the other blocks, find out what they do and how they sound. (A good first start would be a filter.)
- Try clicking and rightclicking everywhere, loads of hidden features.
- When you don't like something you have done, there is always undo. (Go to file->undo or press shift-Z.)
